Boston Bombings Suspect Remains in Serious Condition at Hospital

Three killed — including 8-year-old boy — in bomb blasts near finish line of Boston Marathon, officials say. Area hospitals say at least 144 are injured, including eight children. Two explosions happened at about 2:50 p.m..

At the shoot-out at the MIT campus, which involved both of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, MIT officer Sean Collier was killed and another officer, Richard Donahue, was wounded in the firefight and remains in critical condition. NBC's Ron Allen

Police: Boston bombings suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev is in custody. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was killed earlier Friday. Police: Events began after store robbery, fatal shooting of MIT police officer Thursday night.
